Productinformation

The OPST Commando Tips, at 12 feet in length, are designed to match perfectly with the 12ft Pure Skagit Commando Heads. This length improves anchoring and creates a smoother "swing" when fishing in flowing waters. Shorter tips may cause the anchor to slip, particularly with shorter heads.

These tips are available in three weight classes, depending on your rod. For single-hand rods, choose the lower weight if your rod falls between two weights. For instance, with a 9' #5 rod and a 200-grain Skagit Head, a 96-grain tip is optimal. The weight classes are:

  • 96 Grain (T8) for rods in class #2-6
  • 132 Grain (T11) for rods in class #5-8
  • 168 Grain (T14) for rods in class #7-10

OPST Commando Tips come in three sink rates: Riffle for shallow water, Run for medium depths, and Bucket for deep pockets. They are compatible with other Skagit lines. For best storage, we recommend the OPST Sink Tip Wallet, which holds up to 9 tips.
