Waterworks Lamson

Waterworks was founded in 1996 when fishermen, who also happened to be product designers, came up with a better way to release fish caught on a fly! The product they came up with was Ketchum Release. After this they started to shift their focus to fly reels, which made sense to them as they had both worked in bicycle design and a reel is really just a wheel in a frame. Fly reels at the time were heavy, unreliable and over complicated, they had slow gearing and made the line coiling! Designers began to wonder, what would the perfect reel actually look like? In 1998 Waterworks acquired a fly fishing company called Lamson and now they had two parts sharing technology and could develop reels to an even higher level! Today Waterworks Lamson is seen as a leading company on the reel front, finer reels are hard to come by in this day and age!
