Suick

When the name Suick comes up, you think of "Musky Thriller" jerkbaits. Frank Suick was born in 1899, a month before it was time to step into the 20th century. In the 1920's he started fishing Pelican lake, he liked the place and started fishing it every summer. Before Suick came along, muskie were usually fished by dragging suckerfish behind a rowboat, this was a time consuming and cumbersome method. Once the fish bit, it took a long time to set the hooks. Suick wanted to remedy this, so one day in the early 1930s, he started sticking the knife into a piece of cedar. His skills with the knife resulted in one of the most classic jerkbaits ever, The Suick Muskie Thriller!!
