The founder of Einarsson Fly Fishing, Steingrimur Einarsson, established the company in 2007. Born from a passion for exceptional engineering and a deep dedication to fly fishing, the company’s core mission is to design and manufacture premium-quality fly reels.

Einarsson Fly Fishing is driven by an obsession with fly fishing and a commitment to top-tier engineering. The company is built on 25 years of experience in both manual and automated machining, combined with a lifelong passion for fly fishing and guiding.

Based in Reykjavik, Iceland, Einarsson Fly Fishing embodies traditional craftsmanship while embracing cutting-edge design and manufacturing technology.

Einarsson Fly Fishing produces two types of reels: the Plus series and the Invictus. The Plus series is a redesigned version of the first reel developed in 2004 and is now available in five different sizes. Einarsson reels are made in Iceland, where the company’s quality control team ensures the highest standards throughout the production process.

From the very beginning, the Einarsson design team had one goal: to develop a braking system smoother than any ever made. The result is the patented Shock Absorbing Brake (SAB) technology, the smoothest braking system available. The Invictus reel with the SAB system has been in use since 2012 and is sold through our online store.
