The Cardiff Refrain 50HS is a great trout lure if you have to fish at distance to reach the trout. Although lightweight and relatively small in size, because of the rear weighting the Cardiff Refrain 50S really does fly through the air with arrow like straightness and can achieve surprisingly long distances. If you use a smooth and constant retrieve it generates a fluttering high flash action, which is magnified by the straight-sided body shape and Scale Boost technology. The faster you wind, the more aggressive the action; however, pause the Cardiff Refrain 50S and it instantly changes into an enticing ‘shimmy fall’ action that replicates a wounded bait fish.
