Kapok is a natural dubbing with hollow fibers sourced from Ceiba Pentandra, known as the kapok tree. These hollow fibers make the dubbing lightweight and water-resistant, offering superior buoyancy for dry flies. For enhanced floatation, Kapok dubbing can be placed in a dubbing loop, spun, and wound around the hook. It's also perfect for nymphs due to its natural resilience and fast-drying nature. The Kapok fibers have a standard length of 1.8 mm and a diameter of approximately 0.03 mm, providing excellent detail for fly patterns.
