These leaders are specially designed for you to extend with your own tip. The table has a long butt and taper and a short tip that gives very good rollover and presentation. Just tie on a tip of about 1-1.5 meters in the same or slightly thinner dimension and the taffy is ready for fishing. Feel free to mount a Tippet ring at the end of the tapered section where you easily and with maximum strength attach the lace material. This is particularly important if you are using a tippet made of fluorocarbon, which is harder than nylon and can therefore produce a weaker knot when splicing the different materials. These tackles easily knock over long laces and there is no problem with a total tack length of 12-14 feet. If you want a longer 18-20 foot taffy to use on very shy fish, we recommend using our 12-foot Power Strike taffy and extending it.
