Created by Don Gapen in 1937, the Muddler Minnow is a classic streamer, crafted to imitate sculpins in rivers. Its natural hues and broad head make it resemble the Alpine Bullhead (Cottus poecilopus) found in Europe. While primarily a streamer, it’s highly effective when grasshoppers or large caddisflies are on the menu. Ideal for active retrieves in lakes under foul weather or traditional “swing” fishing in rivers, its broad head moves water to increase visibility for fish.
