But not only the length ensures a wide range of applications, also the combination of smooth and serrated jaws make many things possible. Small nymphs or dry flies are mostly gripped and released with the tips and the smooth, snug-fitting jaws. Large streamers, on the other hand, find a better grip between the slightly serrated area at the end of the pliers. As an addition, the standard pliers offers a small needle behind the jaws, with which adhesive residues can be removed from the hooks.
