The French family business Viellard Migeon and Company was already established in 1796, already then fish hooks were on the agenda! The CEO Charles Viellard quickly realised that it was in England, Redditch that the expertise in hook making was to be found. So in 1910, 10 families were hired and transferred from England to help with the new hook-making business, which went by the name of "La Bouée", meaning "the ring of life". Revenue grew and a new dedicated hook factory was built in Morvillars, France, where VMC hooks are still made today.
